AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE DEVELOPMENT FEE ORDINANCE 85-87 BY ADDING
SUBSECTION 14, CONTRACTOR WORK PERMITS, TO SECTION 2. OF SUCH ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, there is a need to authorize the issuance and charge a fee for
special permit types for construction contractors; and,
WHEREAS, such authorization will provide a convenient method for contractors
to obtain permits for minor or emergency work; and,
WHEREAS, such permit issuances will assist the City in properly authorizing,
inspecting, and tracking such work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 2. of Ordinance 85-87 is hereby amended by adding Subsection 14 to
read as follows:
"14. Contractor Work Permit
A. In lieu of the permits and fees listed in Subsections 2-4 of this section,
the Building & Code Administrator shall be authorized to issue and charge for a
Contractor Work Permit. Such Contractor Work Permit, when so issued, shall auth-
orize the repair, replacement or installation of appliances or fixtures regulated by
the Plumbing, Electrical or Mechanical Code, and as specified by the Building & Code
Administrator. Contractor Work Permits shall only be issued to licensed Master
Plumbers, licensed Master or Industrial Electricians or licensed Air Conditioning
Contractors as required by the applicable City Codes.
B. A fee of $150.00 shall be charged for each Contractor Work Permit, which
shall authorize and include ten (10) separate permits for work at individual work
sites or locations. Additional individual permits may be issued for a fee of
fifteen dollars ($15.00) each.
C. Any work authorized by such Contractor Work Permit shall not be commenced
until an Individual Permit has been completed in full by the contractor for each
location of work and is posted or otherwise available at the job site of such pro-
posed work.
D. If, at any time, any license, bond, or insurance, as required by the City
or State, is revoked or expires, all permits issued pursuant to a Contractor Work
Permit shall become null and void until such time as the license, bond, or insurance
has been acquired and/or reinstated."
