Resolution Awarding Bid For Asbestos Abatement And Demolition
Of Property Located At 306 Scott Avenue (Imperial Motel) To Empire
Environmental Group, L.L.C. In The Amount Of $199,224.00
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls advertised and requested bids for the
asbestos abatement and demolition of property located at 306 Scott Avenue, and bids
were received and publicly opened on May 4, 2011; and
WHEREAS, City Council desires to have commercial property at 306 Scott
Avenue abated and demolished.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. The bid for asbestos abatement and demolition of property located at 306
Scott Avenue is awarded to the Empire Environmental Group, L.L.C., in the amount of
$199,224.00, and the City Manager is authorized to execute a contract with said entity
for the aforementioned project.
2. If the bidder fails to execute a contract for the asbestos abatement and
demolition as awarded herein, City Staff are authorized to execute contracts for
asbestos abatement and demolition with the next lowest bidder for this property.
3. The City Council intends to provide funding for this project from appropriate
federal funds, funds of the City, and/or City-affiliated corporations.
