RESOLUTION NO. 13-2014
Resolution authorizing City Staff to execute all documents necessary
to purchase 120 computer workstations from Global Asset through
the Texas Department of Information Resources, in the amount of
approximately $88,320.00
WHEREAS, the City’s 2013-14 budget includes funds to replace 120 computer
workstations that are in excess of 5 years old; and
WHEREAS, these computers are no longer supported by warranty; and
WHEREAS, bids were received from various Texas Department of Information
Resources Vendors for the purchase of these computers; and
WHEREAS, Texas Gov’t Code § 2054.0565(b) provides that “a political
subdivision that purchases an item or service using a contract under this section
satisfies any other law requiring the political subdivision to seek competitive bids for that
item or service”, and the City Council finds this purchase is exempt from competitive
bidding requirements because it is purchased under said section and is otherwise
exempt from competitive bidding pursuant to Texas Local Gov’t Code § 252.022(a)(12).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
City staff are authorized to execute all documents necessary to purchase 120
computer workstations from Global Asset through the Texas Department of Information
Resources in the amount of approximately $88,320.00
