ORDINANCE WAIVING THE PENALTY AND INTEREST PROVISIONS
OF ORDINANCE 48-83 FOR DELINQUENT TAXES DUE TO CITY
ON TAX ACCOUNT NUMBER 0990-232--0001 .
WHEREAS, Tax Code Section 33.011 provides that the penalty
and interest on delinquent taxes authorized by Tax Code Section
33.01 and Ordinance 43-83 may be waived by the taxing unit if the
failure to timely pay the required taxes was due to an act or
omission of an officer , employee or agent of the taxing unit and
if the tax is paid within 21 days after the taxpayer knows of the
delinquency; and ,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the above requirements
have been met , that the circumstances involved in this situation
are exceptional and that the above described waiver- should be
granted .
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS, THAT :
A waiver of Ordinance No . 48-83 for Tax Account Number
0990--232-0001 is hereby granted so that the City ' s portion of the
penalty and interest on delinquent taxes in the amount of Forty
Eight Dollars and Seventy Four Cents ( $48. 74 ) are hereby waived .
PASSED AND APPROVED this 16th day of May 1989.
