ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTION 22-4 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES TO PERMIT THE SALE, POSSESSION AND
CONSUMPTION OF BEER IN LUCY PARK ON SEPTEMBER
10, 1989, DURING THE 13TH ANNUAL CHICANO DAY
IN THE PARK, AND ALLOWING THE AMERICAN G.I.
FORUM TO CHARGE A $2. 00 ADMISSION FEE TO THIS
EVENT.
WHEREAS, the American G.I . Forum Wichita Falls Chapter
wishes to hold its 13th Annual Chicano Day in the Park in Lucy
Park on September 10, 1989; and,
WHEREAS, the Forum wishes to charge a $2.00 admission fee,
and to sell beer at said event, with the proceeds from all sales
going toward their scholarship fund; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the circumstances
involved in this request are exceptional, and that such waiver
should be granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 22-4 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby waived to
allow the sale, possession and consumption of beer in Lucy Park
on September 10, 1989, during the American G.I . Forum' s 13th
Annual Chicano Day in the Park. Further, the American G.I. Forum
is authorized to charge a $2.00 admission fee per person
attending this function.
