ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE
GENERAL FUND FOR FISCAL YEAR 1989-90 FROM
REVENUE RECEIVED FROM THE OFFICE OF THE
GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION FOR
PURPOSES OF A CAMPUS DRUG ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
WHEREAS, on May 2, 1989, the City Council passed Resolution No.
60-89 which authorized the City Manager to apply for and accept a
state grant for funding a Campus Drug Enforcement Officer; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division
has approved this grant application; and
WHEREAS, this grant provides funding for one full-time officer
to detect and investigate drug trafficking on or near school
campuses; and
WHEREAS, approval of this grant was not certain in sufficient
time to be included in the adoption of the Fiscal Year 1989-90
budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
There is hereby appropriated $27,013 in budget unit 11-807 from
revenue received from the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice
Division for purposes of a Campus Drug Enforcement Officer.
