AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 3 , 7e( 3 ) & 7h, APPENDIX A, CODE
OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS (COMPREHENSIVE
SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE 2118, AS AMENDED) TO DEFINE AND PROVIDE
FOR MINOR PLATS
WHEREAS, the State Legislature has allowed for staff approval
of minor plats; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed amendment would substantially reduce the
time required for plat approval; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning & Zoning Commission has unanimously
recommended that the proposed amendment be adopted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 3 , Appendix A, Code of Ordinances, City of
Wichita Falls, Texas (Comprehensive Subdivision Ordinance 2118, as
amended) is hereby amended to add the following in alphabetical
order:
"Plat, Minor. Final plat of four or fewer lots, fronting on an
existing street and not requiring the creation of any new street or
the extension of municipal facilities. "
SECTION 2. Section 7e( 3 ) , Appendix A, Code of Ordinances, City
of Wichita Falls, Texas (Comprehensive Subdivision Ordinance 2118,
as amended) is hereby amended to add the following:
"OR in the case of a Minor Plat, approval by the Director of
Planning:
This plat , has been
submitted to and considered by the City of Wichita Falls,
Texas, and is hereby approved.

SECTION 3 . Section 7h, Appendix A, Code of Ordinances, City of
Wichita Falls, Texas (Comprehensive Subdivision Ordinance 2118, as
amended) to add the following paragraph:
"The Director of Planning may approve minor plats involving
four or fewer lots fronting on an existing street and not
requiring the creation of any new street or the extension of
municipal facilities. The Director of Planning shall not
disapprove such plat but refer any plat which he refuses to
approve to the Planning & Zoning Commission. "
