Res 004-2014 1/7/2014RESOLUTION NO. 04-2014 Resolution authorizing the City Manager to apply for a one year redesignation into the Federal Aviation Administration Military Airport Program and to request an amount of $2,471,513 for related Airport Improvement Program Projects at Wichita Falls Municipal Airport WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has identified the need for infrastructure improvements at Wichita Falls Municipal Airport through City Council Strategic Planning and Public Participation processes; and WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Municipal Airport Master Plan specifically identifies capital improvement projects for the next 20-year planning cycle; and WHEREAS, possible funding for such capital improvement projects may be available from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Military Airports Program; and WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls was a successful candidate in the FY 2012 Military Airports Program; and WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is formally seeking acceptance and redesignation into the FY 2014 Military Airport Program in a requested amount of $2,471,513; and WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls will provide a local match of $274,613 or 10% of the proposed project costs using airport bond revenues to meet this requirement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to pursue and apply for redesignation into the FAA Military Airports Program, for the construction of capital infrastructure improvements at the Wichita Falls Municipal Airport, in a requested amount of $2,471,513 from the FAA.
