ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE
GENERAL FUND FROM GRANT REVENUE RECEIVED FROM
THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, GOVERNOR'S OFFICE
FOR PURPOSES OF A NARCOTICS ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
The Narcotics Enforcement Officer/1 Grant Application has
been approved by the Criminal Justice Division, of the
Governor's Office. The total grant is for $34, 317 and is
100% funded.
WHEREAS, the Police Department has submitted a grant
application to the Governor's Office, Criminal Justice
Division for purposes of funding a Narcotics Enforcement
Officer, and
WHEREAS, this Narcotics Enforcement Officer grant has
been approved for funding and
WHEREAS, the amount of the grant is $34 , 317 and
requires no matching funds from the city,
WHEREAS, an urgent public necessity exists to combat
the increasing problems of drug trafficking and abuse, and,
therefore, the charter requirement delaying the effective
date of this ordinance for thirty days from date of passage
is hereby suspended and this ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon passage, and
WHEREAS, approval of this grant and could not have been
anticipated with the adoption of the Fiscal Year 1990-91
Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
There is hereby appropriated in the General Fund,
Budget Unit 11-829, the amount of $34, 317 from grant revenue
received from the Criminal Justice Division, Governor's
Office for the purpose of the Narcotics Enforcement Officer.
