ORDINANCE WAIVING THE PENALTY AND INTEREST PROVISIONS
OF ORDINANCE 48-83 FOR DELINQUENT TAXES DUE TO CITY
ON TAX ACCOUNT NUMBER 1081-161-0001 .
WHEREAS , Tax Code Section 33 .011 provides that the penalty
and interest on delinquent taxes authorized by Tax Code Section
33 .01 and Ordinance 48-83 may be waived by the taxing unit if the
failure to timely pay the required taxes was due to an act or
omission of an officer , employee or agent of the taxing unit and
if the tax is paid within 21 days after the taxpayer knows of the
delinquency; and ,
WHEREAS , the City Council finds that the above requirements
have been met , that the circumstances involved in this situation
are exceptional and that the above described waiver should be
granted .
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS , THAT :
A waiver of Ordinance No . 48-83 for Tax Account Number
1081-161-0001 is hereby granted so that the City 's portion of the
penalty and interest on delinquent taxes in the amount of
Fourteen Dollars and Fifty Eight Cents ( $ 14 .58 ) are hereby
waived .
