ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE
GENERAL FUND FROM GRANT REVENUE RECEIVED
FROM THE TEXAS COMMISSION ON ALCOHOL
AND DRUG ABUSE FOR PURPOSES OF FUNDING
THE D.A.R.E. PROJECT FOR THE SECOND YEAR
WHEREAS, the Police Department has made application to
the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse for second
year funding of the D.A.R.E. Project, and
WHEREAS, the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse
has approved that application in the amount of $42,980. 00,
and
WHEREAS, the D.A.R.E. Project is a significant
educational tool in the fight against drug abuse, and
WHEREAS, the approval of this grant could not have been
anticipated with the adoption of the Fiscal 1991-92 Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
There is hereby appropriated in the General Fund the amount
of $42,980. 00 from grant revenue received from the Texas
Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse for the purpose of
operating the D.A.R.E. Project.
