ORDINANCE NO. /7-a/
A ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS TEMPORARILY AMENDING CHAPTER 32 ENTITLED WATER
AND SEWER AT SECTION 32-139; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE AND PROVIDING FOR A REPEALER CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to temporarily
remove the requirement limiting the rate of runoff of storm water
from residential development or redevelopment; and,
WHEREAS, the elimination of this requirement is for the
purpose of allowing sufficient time for the Storm Water Retention
Task Force to present to the City Council its report and
recommendations concerning proposed regulations limiting the rate
of runoff and storm water from residential, commercial,
industrial, institutional, governmental, utility or other
development or redevelopment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Section 32-139 of the Code of Ordinances is
temporarily amended so that such Section shall read as follows:
"Section 32-139. Application.
This article shall apply to any residentiai-development

mere- et--to -any commercial, industrial, institutional,
governmental, utility or other development or
redevelopment comprising a gross aggregate of one ( 1 )
acre or more. The gross aggregate shall include
undedicated streets and other dedicated lands. This
article shall not apply to existing streets. "
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall remain in effect until July
17, 1992 , at which time the same is and shall be hereby repealed.
SECTION 3 . That the Storm Water Retention Task Force is
hereby directed to present a report to the City Council, which
report shall recommend regulations designed to limit the rate of
runoff of storm water for future developments within the City of
Wichita Falls and that such report shall be presented to the
Council on or before July 17, 1992.
SECTION 4 . That only those single-family residential
developments which are final platted and filed for record prior
to July 17, 1992 , shall be exempt from the detention requirements
specified in Chapter 32 of the Code of Ordinances, entitled Water
and Sewer.
SECTION 5. It is hereby officially found and determined
• that the meeting at which this ordinance was passed is open to
