ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE GENERAL
FUND FROM GRANT REVENUE RECEIVED FROM THE
CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, GOVERNOR'S OFFICE,
AND MATCHING GRANT REVENUE FROM OTHER
GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES FOR PURPOSES OF DRUG ENFORCEMENT
WHEREAS, on March 3, 1992, the City Council passed
Resolution No. 34-92 authorizing the City Manager and Police
Department to submit a grant application to the Governor's
Office Criminal Justice Division for purpose of continuation
funding of a regional drug enforcement task force, and
WHEREAS, this grant application for third year funding
of the North Texas Regional Drug Enforcement Task Force has
been approved in the amount of $419, 323 , of which $314,491
will be provided in federal funds and the required 25%
matching funds in the amount of $104,832 will be provided by
the participating entities through a state grant, for a
Narcotics Officer, and proceeds generated by forfeitures,
and
WHEREAS, approval of this grant could not have been
anticipated with the adoption of the FY 1991-92 budget,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
There is hereby appropriated in the General Fund,
budget unit 11-841, the amount $419, 323 from grant revenue
received from the Criminal Justice Division, Governor's
office, and matching revenue from participating governmental
entities for purposes of drug enforcement.
