AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS WAIVING SECTION 27-5 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
FOR THE PURPOSE OF ALLOWING THE GOODYEAR TIRE AND
RUBBER COMPANY STORE AT 1108 INDIANA STREET TO CONDUCT
A SIDEWALK SALE FROM SEPTEMBER 15-21, 1992; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has received a request
from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Store at 1108 Indiana Street to
waive Section 27-5 of the Code of Ordinances, prohibiting the
storage of materials and merchandise upon the sidewalk within the
City limits for the purpose of conducting a sidewalk sale; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls is of
the opinion that the waiving of such ordinance for a limited time
for the purpose requested will be in the public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company Store
located at 1108 Indiana Street in the City of Wichita Falls,
Texas, is hereby granted a waiver of Section 27-5 of the Code of
Ordinances from September 15-21, 1992, for the purpose of
conducting a sidewalk sale and installing a temporary security
fence across a portion of the sidewalk six feet by eighty feet in
front of such facility.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined
that the meeting at which this ordinance was passed was open to
the public as required by law.
