ORDINANCE TERMINATING THE JIM KING COMMISSION ON
AGING, THE HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION AND THE
COMMISSION ON DISABILITY
WHEREAS, there currently exist several commissions with
the goal of exploring and recommending solutions to problems
experienced by identifiable groups of citizens within our
community; and,
WHEREAS, these commissions share a commonality in purpose
by addressing transportation, accessibility, accommodations
and employment needs which are concerns for all; and,
WHEREAS, the interest of all citizens would be best
served by creation of a Commission on Human Needs to address
the needs of the citizens of Wichita Falls; and,
WHEREAS,' the City Council hereby establishes the
Commission on Human Needs to address more effectively the
needs previously addressed through the Jim King Commission on
Aging, the Human Relations Commission and the Commission on
Disability.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The Jim King Commission on Aging, the Human Relations
Commission and the Commission on Disability hereby are
terminated and cease to exist.
