A ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS CHANGING THE NAME OF COLLARD STREET TO
OTIS POLK DRIVE; PROVIDING FOR A WAIVER OF THE
STREET NAME CHANGE FEE; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT
THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, Otis Polk has been a long time leader in the
field of education and civic affairs in the City of Wichita
Falls; and,
WHEREAS, it is desirable to honor Otis Polk for his life
long achievements and concerns for the children and citizens
of the City of Wichita Falls; and,
WHEREAS, in order to so honor Otis Polk, it is desirable
to change the name of Collard Street to Otis Polk Drive.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The name of Collard Street is hereby changed
to Otis Polk Drive.
SECTION 2 . The usual and customary fee for changing the
name of a street is hereby waived.
SECTION 3 . It is hereby officially found and determined
that the meeting at which this ordinance was passed was open
to the public as required by law.
