ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE
GENERAL FUND FROM GRANT REVENUE RECEIVED FROM
THE TEXAS STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC
TRANSPORTATION FOR PURPOSES OF A SELECTIVE
TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM (S.T.E.P. )
WHEREAS, the police department has submitted a Grant
application to the Texas State Department of Highways and
Public Transportation for the purpose of funding a Selective
Traffic Enforcement Program, and
WHEREAS, the Texas State Department of Highways and
Public Transportation has authorized Grant funding for the
period of May 1, 1993 through September 30, 1993 , and
WHEREAS, the amount of the Grant is $20, 000. 00, of
which the Texas State Department of Highways and Public
Transportation will provide 100% of all eligible funding,
and
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has elected to fully
cooperate with the Texas State Department of Highways and
Public Transportation in the Selective Traffic Enforcement
Program, otherwise known as the "OCCUPANT PROTECTION" in the
City of Wichita Falls city limits;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
There is hereby appropriated in the General Fund,
Budget Unit 11-232 , the amount of $20, 000. 00 from Grant
Revenue received from the Texas State Department of Highways
and Public Transportation Office and $2 , 752 . 00 from City
Funds for the Purpose of the Selective Traffic Enforcement
Program.
