ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE
GENERAL FUND FROM GRANT REVENUE RECEIVED
FROM THE TEXAS COMMISSION ON ALCOHOL
AND DRUG ABUSE FOR PURPOSES OF FUNDING
THE D.A.R.E. PROJECT FOR THE FOURTH YEAR
WHEREAS, the Police Department has made application
to the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse for fourth
year funding of the D.A.R.E. program, and
WHEREAS, the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug
Abuse has approved that application in the amount of
$42,980. 00, and
WHEREAS, the D.A.R.E. program has proven to be a
successful tool in the education of the youth in the
community against the illegal use of drugs, and
WHEREAS, this grant money was not adopted in the
Fiscal 1993-1994 Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
There is hereby appropriated in the General Fund the amount
of $42,980. 00 from grant revenue received from the Texas
Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse for the purpose of
operating the D.A.R.E. Project.
