AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, CLOSING, VACATING, AND ABANDONING PORTIONS
OF NORTH AUSTIN, NORTH TRAVIS, AND WARREN STREET; AND
ALLEYS IN BLOCKS J, K, L, 0, &P, R. E. MONTGOMERY SUBDIVISION,
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND RESERVING CERTAIN UTILITY AND
DRAINAGE EASEMENTS; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO
THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls deems it advisable and in the public
interest to close the streets and alleys hereafter described.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The portion of North Austin Street beginning at its intersection with the south right-
of-way line of Wichita Street, and continuing in a southeasterly direction to the Big Wichita River; the
portion of North Travis beginning at its intersection with the south right-of-way line of Wichita Street
and continuing in a southeasterly direction to the Big Wichita River; the portion of Warren Street
beginning at its intersection with the east right-of-way line of North Burnett Street and continuing in a
northeasterly direction to the west right-of-way line of North Lamar Street; all of the twenty-five (25)
foot wide alleys located in Blocks J, K, L, 0, & P, R. E. Montgomery Subdivision, Wichita Falls,
Texas; be hereby closed, vacated, and abandoned subject the retention of utility and drainage easements
described below.
SECTION 2. The City of Wichita Falls hereby reserves a utility and drainage easement for the
purpose of laying and maintaining all kind and character of utility lines, including water, gas, electric,
telephone, T.V. cable, power lines, and sanitary and storm facilities in the portions of streets and alleys
closed in Section 1., as further described below:
All of the twenty-five (25) foot wide alley located in Block J, R.E. Montgomery Subdivision
more particularly described as:
BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of Lot 1, Block J, R. E. Montgomery Subdivision,
and being in the South line of Wichita Street;
THENCE S 33°35' 16" E a distance of 350.0 feet to the Southwest corner of Lot 14, Block
J, and being in the North line of Warren Street;
THENCE S 56°24'45" with the North line of Warren Street a distance of 25.0 feet to the
Southeast corner of Lot 33, Block J:
THENCE N 33°35'16" W a distance of 350.0 feet to the Northeast corner of Lot 46, Block
J, and being in the South line of Wichita Street;
THENCE N 56°24'45" E with the South line of Wichita Street a distance of 25.0 feet to the
PLACE OF BEGINNING and containing 0.201 acres of land.
All of the twenty-five (25) foot wide alley located in Block L, R. E. Montgomery Subdivision
more particularly described as:
BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of Lot 1, Block L, R. E. Montgomery Subdivision,
and being in the South line of Wichita Street;
THENCE S 33°35' 16" E a distance of 350.0 feet to the Southwest corner of Lot 14, Block
L, and being in the North line of Warren Street;
THENCE S 56°24'45" with the North line of Warren Street a distance of 25.0 feet to the
Southeast corner of Lot 15, Block L:
THENCE N 33°35'16" W a distance of 350.0 feet to the Northeast corner of Lot 28, Block
L, and being in the South line of Wichita Street;
THENCE N 56°24'45" E with the South line of Wichita Street a distance of 25.0 feet to the
PLACE OF BEGINNING and containing 0.201 acres of land.
that portion of Warren Street, a sixty (60) foot wide right-of-way, from the east right-of-way line
of North Burnett Street to the west right-of-way line of North Austin Street more particularly
described as: •
BEGINNING at the Southeast corner of Lot 14, Block L, R. E. Montgomery Subdivision
and being the intersection of the West line of North Austin with the North line of Warren
Street;
THENCE S 33°35'16" E a distance of 60.0 feet to the South line of Warren Street at the
Northeast corner of Lot 1, Block 0, R. E. Montgomery Subdivision;
THENCE S 56°24'44" W a distance of 325.0 feet to the Northwest corner of Lot 14, Block
0, and being in the East line of North Burnett Street;
THENCE N 33°35'16" W with the East line of North Burnett Street a distance of 60.0 feet
to the Southwest corner of Lot 15, Block L, R. E. Montgomery Subdivision.;
THENCE N 56°24'45" E with the North line of Warren Street a distance of 325.0 feet to
the PLACE OF BEGINNING and containing 0.478 acres of land.
that portion of Warren Street, a sixty (60) foot wide right-of-way, from the west right-of-way
line of North Lamar Street to a point twenty-five (25) feet east of the east right-of way line of
North Travis Street more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at the Southeast corner of Lot 14, Block J, R. E. Montgomery Subdivision,
and being at the intersection of the North line of Warren Street with the west line of
North Lamar Street;
THENCE S 33°35'16" E a distance of 60.0 feet to a point at the intersection of the West
line of North Lamar Street with the South line of Warren Street;
THENCE S 56°24'44" W with the South line of Warren Street a distance of 300.0 feet;
THENCE N 33°35'16" W a distance of 60.0 feet to a point in the North line of Warren
Street;

the PLACE OF BEGINNING and containing 0.413 acres of land.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this Ordinance
was passed was open to the public as required by law.
