A ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3600 OF THE ZONING
ORDINANCE, ENTITLED "PERMITTED USES" IN A HEAVY
INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN THE
CODE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY; AND FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING
AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS DISCUSSED WAS OPEN TO THE
PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 3600 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City
of Wichita Falls, Texas, is hereby amended so that such section
shall read as follows:
"3600 PERMITTED USES
The following uses are permitted in the HI district subject
to the Site Plan Review provisions of Section 7100:
Civic Uses:
- Public Safety Services
- Utility Service
- Community Residential Centers
Commercial Uses:
- Alcoholic Beverage Sales, subject to the provisions of
Section 5400
- Convenience Stores
- Radio & TV Transmitting Tower
- Restaurants
Heavy Commercial Uses
- Agriculture Sales & Services
- Airports
- Fabrication & Assembly
- Freight Hauling
- Fuel & Chemical Storage
- Heavy Machinery Sales & Service
- Light Manufacturing
- Lumberyards
- Mining & Excavation
- Mobile Homes, Individual Accessory Use
- Mobile Home Sales
- Oil Drilling, subject to the provisions of Chapter 21 of
the Wichita Falls Code of Ordinances, as amended.
- Trucking Facilities
- Warehousing Facilities

Industrial Uses
- Basic Industry & Manufacturing
- Industrial Park
- Power Generation
- Refineries"
SECTION 2 . It is the intention of the City Council of the
City of Wichita Falls, Texas, that the provisions of this
ordinance shall become a part of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and that sections of this ordinance
may be renumbered or relettered to accomplish such intention.
SECTION 3. Should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase, or word of this ordinance be declared unconstitutional or
invalid for any purpose, the remainder of this ordinance shall
not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. The great burden of jail overcrowding and the
need to provide the facilities for such prisoners for Wichita
County creates an urgent public necessity to preserve the public
welfare of the citizens of the City of Wichita Falls; therefore,
this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
passage.
SECTION 5. It is hereby officially found and determined
that the meeting at which this ordinance was passed was open to
the public as required by law.
