ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE GENERAL
FUND FROM GRANT REVENUE RECEIVED FROM THE
CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, GOVERNOR'S OFFICE AND
MATCHING GRANT REVENUE FROM OTHER GOVERNMENTAL
ENTITIES FOR PURPOSES OF DRUG ENFORCEMENT
WHEREAS, on February 15, 1994, the City Council passed
Resolution No. 21-94 authorizing the City Manager and Police
Department to submit a grant application to the Governor's
Office Criminal Justice Division for purpose of continuation
funding of a regional drug enforcement task force, and
WHEREAS, this grant application for Fifth year funding
of the North Texas Regional Drug Enforcement Task Force has
been approved in the amount of $358, 485.00; of which
$265, 113 . 00 will be provided in federal funds and the
required 25% matching funds in the amount of $93, 372 . 00 will
be provided by proceeds generated from drug forfeitures
and/or from participating entities, and
WHEREAS, approval of this grant could not have been
anticipated with the adoption of the FY 1993-94 budget,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
There is hereby appropriated in the General Fund,
budget unit 11-861, the amount $358, 485. 00 from grant
revenue received from the Criminal Justice Division,
Governor's office, and matching revenue from participating
governmental entities for purposes of drug enforcement.
