A ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, CLOSING, VACATING
AND ABANDONING A TWENTY-FIVE FOOT WIDE ALLEY
IN BLOCK 107, ORIGINAL TOWNSITE; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
ORDINANCE WAS DISCUSSED WAS OPEN TO THE
PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, Travis School at Third and Eastside Drive was
constructed in 1913 across a portion of the public alley in Block
107, Original Townsite; and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Independent School District is
planning to lease a portion of this property to the North Central
Texas Community Health Care Clinic, Inc. , which is requesting to
place a temporary building on the rear portion of the alley; and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Independent School District has
requested that the public alley in Block 107, Original Townsite,
be closed, vacated, and abandoned.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. In consideration of the receipt of Ten and
No/100 ($10. 00) Dollars and other valuable considerations, that
portion of the twenty-five (25) foot wide alley in Block 107,
Original Townsite, Wichita Falls, Texas, more specifically
described by metes and bounds as follows, is hereby closed,
vacated, and abandoned.
BEGINNING at the Southeast corner of Lot 8, Block 107,
Original Townsite, Wichita Falls, Texas, also being the
Southwest corner of said alley, according to the plat
of record in Volume 5, Page 21, of the Wichita County
Plat Records, said point also being a point in the
North right-of-way line of Third Street and the Place
of Beginning;
THENCE North 34° 00' West 350 feet, passing Lots 8
through 14, along the West line of said alley to the
Northeast corner of Lot 14, Block 107, Original
Townsite, Wichita Falls, Texas;
THENCE North 56° 00' East 25 feet along the South
right-of-way line of Second Street to the Northwest
corner of Lot 1, Block 107, Original Townsite, Wichita
Falls, Texas;
THENCE South 34° 00' East 350 feet, passing Lots 1
through 7 along the East line of said alley to the
Southwest corner of Lot 7, Block 107, Original
Townsite, Wichita Falls, Texas;
THENCE South 56° 00' West, 25 feet along the North
right-of-way line of Third Street to the Southeast
corner of Lot 8, Block 107, Original Townsite, Wichita
Falls, Texas, and the Place of Beginning.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined
that the meeting at which this ordinance was passed was open to
the public as required by law.
