A ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, SPECIFYING AND PRIORITIZING CERTAIN
PROJECTS, THE SAME TO BE FUNDED BY A ONE-HALF (1/2)
CENT SALES AND USE TAX, AS AUTHORIZED BY ARTICLE
5190.6, SECTION 4B, V.T.C.S. ; CALLING FOR A SPECIAL
ELECTION FOR THE FIRST SATURDAY IN MAY IN THE YEAR
2000, TO ALLOW THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY TO VOTE
ON THE PROPOSITION OF "SHALL THE ONE-HALF (1/2) CENT
SALES AND USE TAX ADOPTED BY THE VOTERS OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS ON AUGUST 13, 1994, AS AUTHORIZED BY
ARTICLE 5190.6, SECTION 4B, V.T.C.S. , BE REPEALED?";
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
ORDINANCE WAS DISCUSSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls has
called for a special election to be held on the 13th day of
August, 1994, for the purpose of allowing the qualified voters of
the City of Wichita Falls to vote on the proposition of whether
or not an additional one-half (1/2) cent sales and use tax should
be adopted within the City of Wichita Falls, pursuant to the
provisions of Article 5190. 6, Section 4B, V.T.C.S. ; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to articulate
the purposes and projects which would be funded by such
additional one-half (1/2) cent sales and use tax should same be
adopted by the voters at the special election on August 13, 1994;
and,
WHEREAS, it is further desirable to call for a special
election in the year 2000 to consider the continuation of said
one-half (1/2) cent sales and use tax, should same be adopted at
the special election of August 13, 1994.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That all the approve preambles and recitals are
found to be true and correct.
SECTION 2. That attached hereto and made a part of this
ordinance for all purposes is Exhibit "A, " the same being a
listing and prioritization of projects recommended for funding by
the one-half (1/2) cent sales and use tax, as authorized by
Article 5190.6, Section 4B, V.T.C.S.
SECTION 3 . That a special election is hereby called for the
first Saturday in May or another authorized election date in the
year 2000, at which election the following proposition shall be
voted upon:
"Shall the one-half cent sales and use tax
adopted by the voters of the City of Wichita
Falls on August 13, 1994, and as authorized
by Article 5190.6, Section 4B, V.T.C.S. , be
repealed, effective October 1, 2000?

SECTION 4. That the above called election shall only be
held in the event the one-half (1/2) cent sales and use tax is
adopted by the voters at the August 13, 1994, special election.
SECTION 5. It is hereby officially found and determined
that the meeting at which this ordinance was passed was open to
the public as required by law.
