Resolution Authorizing The Purchase Of Computer Hardware,
Associated Accessory Items, And Training For A Radio Frequency
Identification System For The Wichita Falls Public Library, Through
The TXMAS Contract From Alpha Data Corporation In The Amount Of
102,581.00
WHEREAS, the City has reviewed the aforementioned proposal using the Texas
Multiple Award Schedule (TXMAS) from Alpha Data Corporation, In The Amount Of
102,581.00
WHEREAS, Texas Gov’t Code § 2155.504 provides:
Texas Gov’t Code § 2155.504. Use of Schedule by Governmental Entities.
a) A state agency or local government may purchase goods or services directly from a vendor
under a contract listed on a schedule developed under this subchapter. A purchase authorized
by this section satisfies any requirement of state law relating to competitive bids or proposals and
satisfies any applicable requirements of Chapter 2157.
b) The price listed for a good or service under a multiple award contract is a maximum price. An
agency or local government may negotiate a lower price for goods or services under a contract
listed on a schedule developed under this subchapter.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Alpha Data Corporation proposal is a
TXMAS contract and is therefore exempt from competitive bidding requirements
pursuant to Texas Gov’t Code § 2155.504; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that Alpha Data Corporation TXMAS proposal
offers the “best value” for the purchase of a Radio Frequency Identification System.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
City staff is authorized to execute all documents necessary to purchase a Radio
Frequency Identification System from Alpha Data Corporation through its TXMAS
proposal in the amount of $102,581.00.
