AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 25 -63 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES BY EXCLUDING MPEC AS A REGULATED USE UNDER
THIS ARTICLE; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT
WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the purpose of creating a multipurpose event center is for
the use and enjoyment of citizens in the City and county and the provision for greater economic activity
as a result of such operations and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the application of certain ordinances is contrary to public
purpose by limiting the operations of a facility funded by public money.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 25 -63 is hereby amended as follows:
Sec. 25 -63. Application of article.
This article shall not apply to street fairs composed of local people for purely
charitable purposes and without profit, transitory show or performance given by a
regularly established theater or show house in the city, nor to the multipurpose event
center.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this ordinance
was passed was open to the public as required by law.
