AN ORDINANCE REZONING 1525 STATE HIGHWAY 79, BEING 6.982 ACRES OUT
OF CHEROKEE COUNTY SCHOOL LANDS, WICHITA FALLS TEXAS, FROM
HEAVY COMMERCIAL TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL ZONING (CASE R 96 -03);
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Planning & Zoning Commission recommended that 1525 State Highway 79, being
6.982 acres out of Cherokee County School Lands, Wichita Falls Texas, be rezoned from Heavy
Commercial to General Commercial zoning (Case R 96 -03); and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas deems that the proposed rezoning
of the area hereafter described is in accordance with the Comprehensive Land Use Plan and in the public
interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION I. The property located at 1525 State Highway 79, being 6.982 acres out of Cherokee
County School Lands, Wichita Falls, Texas, and shown as the shaded area on the attached map,
incorporated in this ordinance as Attachment No. 1, be rezoned from General Commercial to Heavy
Commercial zoning.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this ordinance
was passed was open to the public as required by law.
