AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS; AMENDING SECTION 22- 4(b)(1) OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES TO REGULATE THE POSSESSION AND
CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AT THE WEEKS PARK
MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT
THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, a part of Weeks Park is operated by the City of Wichita Falls as a municipal
golf course; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Wichita
Falls to regulate the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages at the Weeks Park
Municipal Golf Course.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 22- 4(b)(1) is hereby amended to read as follows:
"(b) Exemption.
(1) There is exempted from the operation of subsection (a) alcoholic beverages
at the Weeks Park municipal golf course if
a. the alcoholic beverage is purchased from the City of Wichita Falls or
other entity licensed to sell alcoholic beverages on the premises, or
b. the possession or consumption is at an event or function approved in
advance by the City Manager."
SECTION 2. It is hereby found and determined that the meeting at which this ordinance
was passed was open to the public as required by law.
