S -9Y ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT A HAZARDOUS MATERIALS EQUIPMENT PURCHASE GRANT FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY - DIVISION OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND APPROPRIATING $6,457.00 FOR THE PURCHASE OF CHEMICAL DETECTION EQUIPMENT WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, started a Hazardous Materials Response Team in 1984; and WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Public Safety - Division of Emergency Management has awarded our Fire Department a grant of $6,457 for the purchase of chemical detection equipment; and WHEREAS, this equipment will aid the department in their expanded hazardous materials response effort. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. That the City Manager be authorized to accept the grant from the Division of Emergency Management for the purchase of chemical detection equipment. Section 2. $6,457 is hereby appropriated to the Fire Department budget for the purchase of haz -mat equipment.
