ORDINANCE NO. :5 —c�
ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT A
TEXAS TOBACCO COMPLIANCE GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,000
AND MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE SPECIAL REVENUE
FUND FOR THIS GRANT MONEY.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has received a Texas Tobacco
Compliance Grant in the amount of $5,000; and
WHEREAS, this grant money will go towards expenses involved in a Statewide
Tobacco Education and Prevention (STEP) program; and,
WHEREAS, the STEP Program will be directed towards both education and on-
site compliance on the sale of tobacco products; with the goal to reduce the amount of
tobacco products that are made available to the youth in our community; and,
WHEREAS, this Grant money has not been adopted in the Fiscal Budget of the
City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to accept the Texas Tobacco
Compliance Grant.
Section 2. $5,000 is hereby appropriated for use by the Police Department.
