Ord 032-98 4/7/1998r ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE GRANTING EXTENDED RESERVATION PRIVILEGE AND WAIVER OF SEC. 22 -1 (A)(2) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO PERMIT VEHICLES ON THE PARK FOR THE TEX -MEX BASEBALL LEAGUE IN SPUDDER AND WILLIAMS PARKS IN 1998. WHEREAS, the League again wishes to conduct a league open to the public from March 22, 1998 to September 1, 1998 in Spudder and Williams Parks; and, WHEREAS, the League will drive vehicles upon the infield for mainatenance only and will drag the infield in a manner not to encourage the buildup of dirt at the outfield edge; and, WHEREAS, the League has conducted their activity with no problems reported. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the attached License Agreement with the Tex -Mex Baseball League granting extended reservation privilege and waiver of Sec. 22- 1(a)(2) to permit vehicles on the park for their activity on the Spudder and Williams Parks ballfields from March 22, 1998 to September 1, 1998. ATTEST: ` wjo City Clerk M AIM OR r A License to the Tex -Mex Baseball League for use of Spudder and Williams Parks 1998 License is hereby given to the Tex -Mex Baseball Association, as approved by City Council April 7, 1998, to: 1. Extended reservations of the baseball fields, Friday, Saturday and Sunday during daylight hours from April 10 - September 1, 1998 for the purpose of playing league games, not practice. 2. Drive a motor vehicle upon the ballfield infield for the purpose of dragging the infield dirt. Dragging will be done in a manner pulling the dirt toward the pitcher's mound, not toward the outfield grass edging. 3. Line the field with marking dust. The Tex -Mex Baseball Association agrees to hold harmless the City of Wichita Falls, its officers and employees from and against any and all damages which may result from the Association's use of the premises. Further, the Association agrees to guide it's participants to pick up litter and to not consume alcoholic beverages. This license may be withdrawn by the City should the Tex -Mex Baseball Association fail to abide by the conditions herein stated.
