ORDINANCE NO. -�
ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FROM THE WATER AND
SEWER FUND EQUITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING AN
EMERGENCY REPAIR OF A SANITARY SEWER LINE ON TRUEHEART
STREET AND INSTALLATION OF A COIN - OPERATED WATER
DISPENSING STATION
WHEREAS, the City needs to accomplish two important projects that were not
foreseen and thus were not included in the 1998 -99 budget for the Water and Sewer
Fund;
WHEREAS, the sewer collection system serving a group of residents on
Trueheart Street has failed and is causing an adverse effect on the residents, and the
Council desires to remedy the situation by installing a new sewer line at an estimated
cost of $40,000;
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide a more convenient source of
water to the residents of the Kiel Road area by installing a coin - operated water
dispensing station at the Reilly Road elevated tower, said dispensing station to cost an
estimated $20,000;
WHEREAS, since the two projects are not in the current budget and are
important to our community, the Council desires to make an appropriation from the
equity of the Water and Sewer Fund; and,
WHEREAS, an urgent public necessity exists to replace the sewer line on
Trueheart Street in a timely manner, therefore the Charter requirement delaying the
effective date of passage is hereby suspended and this ordinance shall take effect upon
passage.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS THAT:
There is hereby appropriated from the equity of the Water and Sewer Fund the
following amounts to be deposited to the cited budget accounts, and the staff is
authorized to proceed with the two projects:
