AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FUNDS FROM THE SECTION 8
ADMINISTRATIVE FEE EARNED RESERVE ACCOUNT AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY
CONTRACT TO PURCHASE COMPUTERS, SOFTWARE AND
HARDWARE UPGRADES; DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT
WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Section 8 Housing Assistance Program requires a computer -
based data management system to comply with HUD electronic reporting requirements;
and,
WHEREAS, a commercially - produced software package, in conjunction with
computers capable of operating this software and electronically transmitting reports to
HUD, meets the needs of these management and reporting requirements; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to appropriate funds in excess of these previously
budgeted for this expenditure.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City of Wichita Falls hereby appropriates $14,982.00 from the
Section 8 Administrative Fee Earned Reserve Account for the purpose of purchasing a
software package from Millennium Software and providing necessary computer
hardware to operate this software and manage the program. Be it further ordained that
the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute contract documents for the purchase
of these items.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
