ORDINANCE INCREASING FEES FOR SALE OF CEMETERY SPACES
AND FOR BURIAL SERVICES; DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT
WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City has the responsibility for the operation of Riverside,
Rosemont, Hillcrest, and Lakeview Cemeteries; and
WHEREAS, fees charged for sale of spaces and burial services are the principal
source of income for the cemetery operation; such fee schedules have remained
unchanged for several years and are significantly lower than private cemetery
operators; and
WHEREAS, it is the continuing goal of the City Council to operate the cemeteries
without tax subsidy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The attached fee schedule for the sale of cemetery spaces and for
burial services is hereby adopted.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law
