Ord 001-99 1/5/1999ORDINANCE NO. ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE ELKS HOME, THE CENTRAL YMCA, AND THE KEMP /KELL DEPOT AS WICHITA FALLS LANDMARKS; DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW. WHEREAS, the Landmark Commission has recommended that the Elks Home located at 1005 Ninth Street, Wichita Falls, Texas (Lots 1, 2, and parts of 3 and 4, Block 186, Original Townsite), be designated as a local landmark; and, WHEREAS, the Landmark Commission has recommended that the Central YMCA located at 1010 Ninth Street, Wichita Falls, Texas (Lots 8, 9, and 10, Block 172, Original Townsite), be designated as a local landmark; and, WHEREAS, the Landmark Commission has recommended that the Kemp /Kell Depot located at 503 Eighth Street, Wichita Falls, Texas (Lots 1 and 2, Block 177, Original Townsite), be designated as a local landmark; and, WHEREAS, the Landmark Commission of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas has deemed that these properties are especially worthy of protection, preservation, and recognition. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. Section 2- 160.7.7, Code of Ordinances, Wichita Falls, Texas, is hereby amended to include the following: "(17) The Elks Home at 1005 Ninth Street, Wichita Falls, Texas, further described as Lots 1, 2 and parts of 3 and 4, Block 186, Original Townsite, is hereby designated as a Wichita Falls Landmark. (18) The Central YMCA at 1010 Ninth Street, Wichita Falls, Texas, further described as Lots 8, 9 and 10, Block 172, Original Townsite, is hereby designated as a Wichita Falls Landmark. (19) The Kemp /Kell Depot at 503 Eighth Street, Wichita Falls, Texas, further described as Lots 1 and 2, Block 177, Original Townsite, is hereby designated as a Wichita Falls Landmark." SECTION 2.
