ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TAXICAB SERVICE FRANCHISE
GRANTED TO ALL AMERICAN CAB COMPANY TO INCREASE THE
NUMBER OF VEHICLES AUTHORIZED; DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO
THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, All American Cab Company has a taxicab service franchise to
operate within the city of Wichita Falls; and
WHEREAS, the owner has requested an increase in the number of vehicles
authorized under said franchise to provide better service; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 31, Vehicles For Hire, Article II, Sec. 31 -33(b) of the Code
of Ordinances stipulates that a franchise may be amended by the City Council to
increase the number of vehicles authorized under the franchise at a public hearing and
after finding that an increase is required for public convenience and necessity; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that an increase in the number of
vehicles authorized to All American Cab Company is required for public convenience
and necessity.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The taxicab service franchise granted to All American Cab
Company is hereby amended to increase the number of vehicles permitted by two from
fifteen (15) to seventeen (17).
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 16th day of February, 1999.
