AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS CALLING FOR A GENERAL AND SPECIAL CITY ELECTION TO
BE HELD ON MAY 1, 1999, NAMING POLLING PLACES AND
ELECTION OFFICIALS AND ORDERING THAT A PROPOSITION BE
PLACED ON THE BALLOT TO SELL SURPLUS PARK PROPERTY;
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, Mayor Kathryn A. Yeager has issued an order this date, ordering
that an election to be held on May 1, 1999, for the purpose of electing the Councilor At
Large, Councilor District 1, and Councilor District 2, and
WHEREAS, City Council has issued an order this date, ordering that a special
election be held on May 1, 1999, for the purpose of placing on the ballot the proposition
question to authorize the City to sell a portion of surplus park property known as East
Lynwood Park, and
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls, Texas is authorized by law to hold such
elections on May 1, 1999.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS THAT:
Section 1. A general election shall be held in the City on May 1, 1999, for the
purpose of electing such City officers. Such election shall be held at the polling places
named in Exhibit A, attached hereto. The persons named in Exhibit A are hereby
appointed election officials to serve at such election.
Section 2. A special election shall be held in the City on May 1, 1999, for the
purpose of placing on the ballot the proposition question to authorize the City to sell a
portion of surplus property known as East Lynwood Park, such proposition to be
worded as follows:
"Shall the City be authorized to sell at fair market value surplus park property in
East Lynwood Park, said property being described as a 0.52 more or less, acre tract of
land located in the southwest corner of Block Twenty (20) Lynwood Addition, an
addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas.

Section 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which
this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
