AN ORDINANCE WAIVING SEC. 22 -1 (A)(9) OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCE TO PERMIT SIGNS AT THE FOOTBALL FIELDS IN
JAYCEE PARK; DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Wichita Falls has requested permission
to place signs on bleachers at the football fields in Jaycee Park for the purpose of
recognizing donors to their fall youth football program; and
WHEREAS, it has been custom for the City Council to waive this ordinance for
limited periods of time for non - profit organizations using public parks for activities that
are open to the public; and
WHEREAS, the Park Board has considered the request and recommended
approval for temporary signs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Sec. 22 -1 (a)(9) of the Code of Ordinances is hereby waived to
permit temporary signs for a one year period on certain structures at the Jaycee Park
football fields for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Wichita Falls' fall, youth football program;
providing the signs are attached during the fall activity season only; and the scoreboard
ads are covered during the off season.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
