ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14, ARTICLE III, SECTION 14 -35
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS
TO ADOPT THE 1999 EDITION OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL
CODE; DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City to adopt and maintain a current Electrical
Code for the protection and safety of its citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Chapter 14, Article III, Section 14 -35 of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Wichita Falls is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 14 -35. National Electrical Code Adopted by Reference.
The book entitled "National Electrical Code ", 1999 Edition, ANSI /NFPA 70 (a
copy which, authenticated by the signature of the Electrical Inspector, shall be filed with
the Inspection Department as a public record) is hereby adopted as a part of this Code
as fully as if copied at length in this article. In the event of a conflict with any provision
of the "National Electrical Code" and this Code, then in such event the provisions of this
Code shall control.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
