ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE GENERAL FUND
FOR ADDITIONAL GRANT REVENUE FROM THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE
DIVISION, OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, STATE OF TEXAS, AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACT
ACCEPTING SAME; DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH
THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has received approval for grant funds from
the Criminal Justice Division, Office of the Governor, State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, said grant funds will be used to continue the Tenth year funding of
the North Texas Regional Drug Enforcement Task Force; and
WHEREAS, the approval of these funds could not have been anticipated prior to
the adoption of the 1998 -1999 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated in the General Fund $484,421.00 for
the North Texas Regional Drug Enforcement Task Force Grant, and the City Manager
is authorized to enter into a contract with the Criminal Justice Division, Office of the
Governor, State of Texas.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
