ORDINANCE NO.
ORDINANCE ADDING SECTION 12 -6, CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES, ESTABLISHING A MUNICIPAL COURT TECHNOLOGY
FUND; DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW
WHEREAS, The Texas Legislature has amended the Texas Code of Criminal
Procedure by adding Article 102.172 which authorizes the City Council to pass an
ordinance establishing a municipal court technology fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Chapter 12 of the Code of Ordinances, is amended by adding
Section 12 -6 to read as follows:
Sec. 12 -6. Municipal court technology fund.
All persons convicted in municipal court of a non - parking violation shall be
assessed a four dollar technology fee. All fees so collected shall be
deposited in a fund to be known as the Municipal Court Technoloqv Fund.
Expenditures from this fund shall be made by City Council resolution for
the purchase of municipal court technological enhancements as
authorized by state law.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
