ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 14 OF THE ELECTRICAL CODE
AT SECTION 14 -4(B), SO AS TO CHANGE THE TERM OF OFFICE
FROM MAY 31 TO JULY 31; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN THE
CODE; PROVIDING A REPEALER CLAUSE; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Chapter 14, the Electrical Code, at Section 14 -4(B) shall be
amended so that such section shall read as follows:
"(B) Terms of Office: The existing board shall serve its regular appointed term
after enactment of this chapter. Thereafter, all appointments shall be for a term of two
(2) years; however, no member shall serve for more than three (3) consecutive terms.
Terms shall be staggered and shall end on July 31. Members shall serve until their
successors are appointed. The chairman and vice - chairman shall be elected by the
members of the board annually. When good cause exists, a member may be removed
by the city council. Any member absent for four (4) consecutive regular meetings,
without cause, shall be replaced by the council."
SECTION 2. It is the intention of the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls,
Texas, that the provisions of this ordinance shall become a part of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and that sections of this ordinance may
be renumbered or relettered to accomplish such intention.
SECTION 3. If any section, paragraph, clause, or provision of this ordinance
shall for any reason be held to be invalid or unenforceable, the invalidity or
unenforceability of such section, paragraph, clause, or provision shall not affect any of
the remaining provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
