ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE SECTION 8
HOUSING ASSISTANCE FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $189,708 FOR
ADDITIONAL GRANT REVENUE RECEIVED FROM THE HOUSING
AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT; DETERMINING THAT
THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City receives funds annually from the United States Department
of Housing and Urban Development for the Section 8 Rental Assistance Program; and
WHEREAS, the City has been informed by the federal government that a higher
rental rate per unit will be applied to the program; and
WHEREAS, this higher rental rate resulted in an increase to the Section 8
Program Budget in the amount of $189,708.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The 1998 -99 budget for the Section 8 Rental Assistance Program
is hereby increased by $189,708.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
