ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE STRUCTURE AT 900 EIGHTH
STREET AS A WICHITA FALLS LANDMARK; DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO
THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Landmark Commission has recommended that the structure
located at 900 Eighth Street, Wichita Falls, Texas, be designated as a local landmark;
and,
WHEREAS, the Landmark Commission of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas has
deemed that this property is especially worthy of protection, preservation, and
recognition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 2- 160.7.7, Code of Ordinances, Wichita Falls, Texas, is
hereby amended to include the following:
"(21) The building located at 900 Eighth Street, Wichita Falls, Texas, further
known as Lots 6 and 7, Block 166, Original Townsite, and commonly known as the
Hamilton Building, is hereby designated as a Wichita Falls Landmark."
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
