Ord 112-99 11/2/1999ORDINANCE NO. hg,-9-9 ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 151/2, ARTICLE III, FLOOD DAMAGE PREVENTION, SECTION 151/2 -28, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES; DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW. WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has requested that the City amend the date of the Flood Insurance Study referenced in Chapter 151/2, Article III, Section 151/2 -28 to "January 19, 2000;" and, WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls desires to continue participation in the National Flood Insurance Program; and, WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls, by approving this amendment, also adopts the maps that are a product of the Flood Insurance Study and agrees to use them in the enforcement of its floodplain regulations. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. Chapter 151/2, of the Wichita Falls Code of Ordinances, Article III, Section 151/2 -28, is hereby amended to read as follows. "Sec. 15 % -28. Basis for establishing the areas of special flood hazard. The areas of special flood hazard identified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency in a scientific and engineering report entitled "Flood Insurance Study (FIS)" and accompanying Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM), which will be effective January 19, 2000 and any revisions thereto are hereby adopted by reference and declared to be a part of this chapter." SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
