Ord 115-99 11/2/1999ORDINANCE NO. '-3 ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE SPECIAL REVENUE FUND FOR ADDITIONAL GRANT REVENUE RECEIVED FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE FOR THE BULLETPROOF VEST PARTNERSHIP GRANT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT SAME; DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW. WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls applied for a Bulletproof Vest Partnership grant to purchase bulletproof vests for officers of the Police Department; and WHEREAS, the Bulletproof Vest Partnership grant has been awarded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance at a 1 to 1 matching ratio with the federal amount being $2,224.00 and the City's matching amount being $2,224.00 for a total grant award of $4,448.00. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to accept the Bulletproof Vest Partnership grant from the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Department of Justice. SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to appropriate $2,224.00 in Federal funds into the Office of Justice Programs fund. SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law. PASSED AND APPROVED this the 2nd day of November 1999.
