ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE SPECIAL
REVENUE FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $15,822 FOR THE PURCHASE
OF CURBSIDE RECYCLING CONTAINERS AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE GRANT ACCEPTING SAME; FINDING
AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls desires to expand its recycling effort in the
area of lawn waste; and
WHEREAS, in order to facilitate expansion of this program a grant application
has been made to Nortex Council of Governments; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this grant was for the purposes of purchasing
curbside lawn waste recycling containers for use by the automated collection system;
and
WHEREAS, this grant has been made in the amount of $15,822.00 through the
Nortex Council of Governments.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept a grant in the
amount of $15,822 through the Nortex Council of Governments for the purchase of
curbside recycling containers.
SECTION 2. Said funds are hereby appropriated in the Special Revenue Fund.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
