Resolution Authorizing The City Manager To Apply For And Accept
Designation Into The Federal Aviation Administration Military
Airports Program And To Request Up To $35 Million Of Capital
Improvement Projects At The Wichita Falls Municipal Airport
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has identified the need for infrastructure
improvements at Wichita Falls Municipal Airport through the City Council Strategic
Planning process; and
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Municipal Airport Master Plan specifically identifies
capital improvement projects for the next 20-year planning cycle; and
WHEREAS, possible funding for such capital improvement projects may be
available from the FAA Military Airports Program of up to $35,000,000, and the City is
formally seeking acceptance into said Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to
pursue, apply for, and accept designation in and funding from the Federal Aviation
Administration Military Airports Program, for the construction of capital infrastructure
improvements at the Wichita Falls Municipal Airport as described above.
