Ordinance Accepting A$97,000 Grant From The U.S. Department Of
Homeland Security For The 2010 Homeland Security Program And
Appropriating Said Funds To The Special Revenue Fund
WHEREAS, the City has been notified that it has been awarded $97,000 from
the 2010 State Homeland Security Program;
WHEREAS, the grant of $97,000 has been identified to support the City of
Wichita Falls HAZMAT team for response to unknown chemicals and substances in the
field and will improve incident management capabilities, not only in the City but in the
region; and
WHEREAS, approval of these funds could not have been anticipated prior to the
adoption of the FY 2010-2011 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City hereby accepts the aforementioned 2010 State Homeland Security
Grant in the amount of $97,000, and authorizes the City Manager to execute all
documents necessary to accept said funds. The City further appropriates said amount
to the Special Revenue Fund to account for these expenditures.
