Ordinance Authorizing The City Manager To Execute All Documents
Necessary To Apply For And Accept Up To $6 Million In Federal
Aviation Administration Grants For The Construction Of Phase II
Terminal Building Facilities At Wichita Falls Regional Airport And
Appropriating Said Funds To The FAA Airport Improvement Grant
2013 Fund
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has assumed responsibility from Sheppard
Air Force Base in its lease agreement for the repair and maintenance of leased
property at Wichita Falls Regional Airport; and
WHEREAS, the City has identified the need for the construction of a new
commercial passenger terminal to better serve the traveling public; and
WHEREAS, possible funding for the Phase II Terminal Building Facilities may be
available from the Federal Aviation Administration; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to apply for up to $6 million from the Federal
Aviation Administration for assistance to begin Phase II of this project; and,
WHEREAS, the City will pay 10% in local match requirements, up to an amount
of $600,000, using bond proceeds to meet this obligation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to
pursue, apply for, and accept the aforementioned Federal Aviation Administration
grants for the construction of Phase II Terminal Building Facilities at Wichita Falls
Regional Airport, and said funds are hereby appropriated to the FAA Airport
Improvement Project Grant 2013 Fund.
