Resolution Authorizing The City Manager To Submit An Application
To The United States Air Force Static Display Program For A T -38
Talon To Be Displayed At Wichita Falls Regional Airport
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has committed to the construction of a new
and modern passenger terminal building for those accessing the nation's commercial
air carrier network;
WHEREAS, the Museum of North Texas History (the "Museum ") has raised
funds to build a historical display area within the new passenger terminal building to
permanently house the Curtiss Jenny and related items of that era;
WHEREAS, the Museum desires to include a T -38 Talon as part of that display
area to recognize the importance of Wichita Falls in training military pilots from around
the world;
WHEREAS, the United States Air Force Static Display Program allows for the
loan of aircraft for exhibits; and
WHEREAS, the City is an eligible candidate to apply for the loan of a T -38 Talon
for this display.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to submit an application to the United
States Air Force Static Display Program to begin the process of obtaining a T -38 Talon
for display at the Wichita Falls Regional Airport.
